Review & Description

Add Durif to spicy Shiraz and magical things happen, says multi award-winning winemaker, Alan Kennett. But then, those of you who've taken to this remarkably moreish red in your droves over the years already know!

Alan practises this 'dark art' behind closed doors at the Casella family's remote estate. The wine owes its name to an Aussie expression meaning 'the back of beyond', but its remote origins have not stopped it from winning medals at prestigious competitions around the world.

Dark, captivatingly smooth Durif - "the grape that takes no prisoners" (The Observer) - is used as a 'turbo-charge' to add even more inky-black fruit to juicy, spicy Shiraz. And it's simply a must-try combination!

Velvety, voluptuous, and irresistible served in large glasses with char-grilled steak or Sunday roasts. Read more
